  • Cream cheese 226g/8 ounces
  • Sour cream 120g/1/2 cup
  • Ricotta cheese 250g/1 cup
  • Minced garlic 1 tsp
  • Dried parsley 1 tsp
  • Spaghetti sauce 2 jars/24 ounces each

  • Cavatappi pasta 454g/16 ounces

Instructions

  • Brown and crumble the ground beef in a skillet, season with salt and pepper, drain excess grease, and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese, sour cream, ricotta cheese, minced garlic, and parsley.
  • In a 6 quart slow cooker, layer the ingredients: half a jar of spaghetti sauce, half the pasta, the rest of the spaghetti sauce, water, half the ground beef, the cream cheese mixture, the rest of the pasta, the remaining spaghetti sauce, more water, and the remaining ground beef.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 3-4 hours.
  • Stir the mixture, check the pasta for doneness. If needed, let it cook for another hour.
  • Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, cover and let it melt for 15-20 minutes.
  • Optionally, sprinkle a little dried parsley for color.

Notes

Adjust the cheese quantity to your preference.
Other types of pasta like penne or fusilli can be used in place of cavatappi.
