Ingredients
  

  • Ground chicken 450g / 1 lb
  • Minced ginger root 1 tablespoon
  • Minced garlic 2 teaspoons
  • Crushed hot red chili pepper 1/4 teaspoon
  • Rice wine 1 tablespoon
  • Water 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil 1/2 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce 4 teaspoons
  • Sugar 5 tablespoons
  • White vinegar 5 tablespoons
  • Zest of 1/2 orange
  • Cornstarch 1 tablespoon

Instructions
 

  • Start by preparing the sauce in a bowl. Combine the rice wine, 2 tablespoons of water, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, white vinegar, and orange zest. Mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, prepare the cornstarch mixture. Dissolve 1 tablespoon of cornstarch in the remaining 1 tablespoon of water. Set this aside for later.
  • Heat a tablespoon of oil in a large pan. Add the ground chicken and allow it to cook undisturbed until a good crust forms. Then, break it apart with a spatula and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.
  • To the pan, add the ginger, garlic, and crushed red pepper. Let these cook for about 10 seconds to release their flavors.
  • Now it's time for the orange sauce. Pour it into the pan and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir. Cook for a few seconds until the sauce thickens.
  • Serve your delicious Ground Orange Chicken hot, garnished with fresh spring onions or sesame seeds, if desired.

Notes
