    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the lean ground meat, oats, beaten eggs, chopped onion, milk, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
    • Shape the mixture into 12 meatballs, each about 5 cm (2 inches) in diameter.
    • Place the meatballs in a lightly greased 23x33 cm (9x13 inch) baking pan.
    • In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, yellow mustard, barbecue sauce, and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
    • Pour the sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are thoroughly coated.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has slightly thickened.
    • Serve the Sweet and Sour Meatballs over hot cooked rice for a complete and satisfying meal.

    Notes

For a healthier alternative, you can use lean ground turkey or chicken instead of beef or pork.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the sauce by adding more or less brown sugar according to your taste preferences.
These meatballs can also be prepared in advance and frozen for later use. Simply thaw and reheat when needed.
Experiment with different types of barbecue sauce to add a unique twist to the flavor profile.
