Ingredients
  

  • 1 box 15.25 oz. / 432 g of chocolate cake mix
  • 1 box 3.9 oz. / 110 g of instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/4 cups 300 ml of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup 118 ml of vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups 12 oz. / 340 g of chocolate chips
  • Optional Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup 118 ml of sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon 5 ml of vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Begin by generously coating the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  • In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine the chocolate cake mix, chocolate pudding mix, 1 1/4 cups of milk, vegetable oil, and eggs. Beat on low for 1 minute.
  • For an extra moist cake, add sour cream and vanilla extract to the batter and mix until smooth.
  • Increase the speed to medium and continue mixing for 2-3 minutes, or until the batter is smooth and glossy.
  • Pour the cake batter into the prepared slow cooker.
  • Spread the chocolate chips on top of the cake batter. Do not stir.
  • Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours, or until the top of the cake is set.
  • Carefully remove the slow cooker insert and let it cool for a few minutes.
  • Use a spoon to scoop the cake out of the slow cooker and serve warm, topped with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For an extra special touch, serve your Slow Cooker Chocolate Lava Cake with a dollop of whipped cream, a drizzle of chocolate sauce, or a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Enjoy this dessert while it's warm for the ultimate molten lava experience.
