Wales Joins the United States, England, and Brazil in Offering Equal Pay To Both Men And Women Players

Wales’ national football teams will get the same compensation, the country’s football administration has decided.

Wales now pays its foreign players (male and female) the same financial incentives, joining countries like the United States of America, England, Brazil, Australia, Norway, and New Zealand.
The Football Association of Wales [FAW] said on Wednesday that the organization had reached a contract under which equal pay will take effect right away.

In order to achieve equity for Wales’s representation, the senior men’s team for Wales has agreed to accept a 25% salary cut for the women’s team. Up until 2027, the new equal pay policy will be in force.
Wales’ female football players have never received the same compensation as Wales’ male players for playing international football.

In reaction to the new development, Wales women’s national team coach Gemma Grainger, who recently signed a new contract to lead the national team until 2027, claims that paying her team similarly will send a strong statement.
The English female tactician said: “I am really happy about equal pay, it is about equality. “Hopefully that collaboration will continue to grow. “Equality and making sure what we have here is equal is so important to us. The women’s game is growing and will continue to grow.”
