One of the well-liked presidential candidates, Tinubu, is fighting controversies over his academic background, date of birth, and other matters as the general election for 2023 approaches.
There have been claims that there are discrepancies between his date of birth and the authenticity of his certificate from Chicago State University.
But in response to an inquiry about it, the former governor of Lagos said his records are consistent while appearing at Chatham House on Monday, December 5, 2022, in the United Kingdom.
Tinubu speaks on the controversy surrounding his certificate and date of birth – He Says;
Tinubu said that his record is held by the private companies he worked for and the university he attended when asked to clarify the controversies surrounding his profile. The presidential hopeful further urged his detractors to apply for a DNA test to verify the validity of his paternal ancestry.
He said, “My record is consistent and it’s true, and the university they questioned, they now confessed that they wasted their money and their time. The record is there, the transcript is there showing March 1952. I am not claiming another father, I am Tinubu and Tinubu proper. If they want DNA, they could as well request one. One of them even accused me of not being a Nigerian citizen, I didn’t touch that area.
“Equally, nothing has changed. I can now confirm that it’s because Chicago State University, the institution from which I graduated, testified to it by sending me my actual degree certificate. Mobil Oil has verified my financial records, and Deloitte trained me in the accounting business. In the private sector, I reached the apex of my career. Who among them can take pride in that?

Additionally, Tinubu explained his refusal to participate in town hall meetings and debates leading up to the 2023 general election while speaking to Nigerians at Chatham House.
The presidential candidate believes he is a marketable individual, saying he won’t let anyone use him to make money.
