How to Prepare Your Broccoli Chicken Rice Delight ?
Get your large pot heated up on high heat, melting the butter and adding the olive oil.
Toss in the chopped onion and minced garlic, letting them sizzle for a minute until you can smell their aroma.
It’s time for the chicken to join the party. Cook them until they’re white all over.
Lower your heat to medium, sprinkle in your chosen flour, stirring continuously for about a minute.
Gradually add in half the milk, stirring constantly, followed by the rest of the milk. Mix well to blend it all together.
Now, stir in the chicken broth, uncooked rice, your choice of dried herb, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. Combine well.
Allow the mixture to simmer, then cover your pot and turn down the heat to medium-low. Let it be for about 12 minutes.
After this, lift the lid and place the broccoli florets in. Press them down gently into the liquid, cover it up again, and let it cook for another 3 minutes.
Time to turn on your broiler or grill to high. Remove the pot’s lid and stir in half the cheese until it’s melty and gooey.
Level out the top of the casserole and sprinkle the remaining cheese on top. Let it grill until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Or if you prefer, you can simply cover it up and let the residual heat do the job.
Once the cheese is beautifully melted, remove the pot from the heat. Serve up your delightful Casserole piping hot, garnished with chopped parsley if you choose.
