INEC announces date for PVC collection; The collection of Permanent Voter Cards will start on Monday, December 12, 2022, according to a statement from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, made the declaration on Friday on behalf of the electoral authority.
Therefore, the Commission has also decided to delegate PVC collecting to the 8,809 Registration Areas/Wards across the nation from Friday, January 6, to Sunday, January 15, 2023, according to the announcement.
The statement read in part, “The commission has fixed Monday, December 12, 2022 to Sunday, January 22, 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 Local “Government Offices of the Commission throughout the Federation.”

Meanwhile, Okoye noted in the statement that the decision was sequel to a recent retreat in Lagos State where the procedure as well as the timetable for the collection of were unveiled.

This is even as suspected arsonists are on rampage setting the commission’s facility ablaze in South East and other parts of the country.
The commission has lost several valuables to attacks by the daredevil unknown gunmen causing havoc in the region.
