2023: Peter Obi Talks About Paying Kwankwaso N40bn to Resign in His Place
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, has responded to reports that he paid Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) N40 billion to withdraw from the race in favor of him.
Speaking on Monday in Lagos State during an interactive session with the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Obi claimed that the claim made in some media outlets that he paid Kwankwaso $40 billion to resign on his behalf was untrue.

No one “will claim he’s funding as of today,” he continued. I support myself, Peter Obi; I don’t hire anyone to work for me.
